Lesson 4 · Harakat: Fatha, Kasra, Damma
Harakat (Short Vowels)
Today I will learn the three short vowels: fatha, kasra and damma.
Fatha ( ـَ ) above = "a". Kasra ( ـِ ) below = "i". Damma ( ـُ ) above = "u". Say them short and quick, without stretching.
Tip for parents: Read each box: letter name, the vowel name, then the sound — e.g. "Baa fatha ba". Later, just say the sound.
