Muqatta‘at Letters
Today I will learn the special letters at the start of some surahs.
Some surahs begin with special letters. We read them by saying the names of the letters, e.g. الٓمٓ is read "Alif Laam Meem".
Tip for parents: These letters are read with long stretches where the madd sign ( ـٓ ) is shown. Listen to your teacher first.
