Lesson 17 · The Laam of the Name Allah
The Laam in "Allah"
Today I will learn when the laam in the name Allah is heavy or light.
If the letter before the name اللّٰهُ has a fatha or damma, the laam is heavy (full mouth). If it has a kasra, the laam is light (thin).
Tip for parents: Heavy = round, full mouth. Light = thin, like the laam in "Laa".
