Frequently asked questions

Everything families ask before booking their free trial lessons.

Are all teachers female?

Yes. Every teacher at Her Quran Academy is a woman, and classes take place in a female-only learning environment.

Which countries do you teach?

We teach online, so families can join from anywhere with a stable internet connection. Our class times are planned around the USA, Canada, the UK and the UAE. We do not have physical centres.

Do I have to turn my camera on?

No. For adult women the camera is always optional. For children, the teacher may ask to see the book or screen to help with pointing and pronunciation. Classes are never recorded without written consent.

How do the 2 free trial lessons work?

Book online and we confirm a time in your local time zone. The first lesson includes a friendly level check; the second is with your recommended teacher at your regular time. No payment or card is needed for the trial.

How do time zones work?

Our teachers are in Pakistan (PKT, UTC+5) and teach in shifts that cover after-school hours, evenings and weekends in the USA, Canada, the UK and the UAE. The UAE is 1 hour behind Pakistan. When clocks change in the UK or North America we re-confirm your class time.

Which platform do you use?

Live classes run on Zoom or Google Meet, on a laptop, tablet or phone. A laptop or tablet with headphones works best for children.

How much does it cost?

One price for every student: Sakinah (3 lessons a week) is $35 / C$49 / £28 / AED 129 per month, and Barakah (5 lessons a week) is $49 / C$69 / £39 / AED 179 per month. Lessons are 30 minutes for children and 45 minutes for women. There is no registration fee.

How do payments work?

After the free trial lessons, fees are paid monthly in advance. Payment methods are confirmed when you enrol. Paying 3 months in advance saves 10% (for example $105 → $94.50 on the Sakinah plan).

Do you offer family discounts?

Yes: 10% off the 2nd student, 15% off the 3rd and each further student, and 15% off both when a mother and daughter learn together.

What if we miss a class?

Tell us at least 24 hours before and we arrange a make-up class in the same month. If a teacher cancels, the class is always made up.

What do I get when I enrol?

Your one-to-one lessons with a female teacher on your chosen plan, a monthly progress report and, with every enrolment, a free interactive Noorani Qaida PDF for kids. The PDF is given when you enrol on a monthly plan; it is not part of the free trial lessons.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are month to month; please give one month’s notice.

How will I know how my child is doing?

Teachers keep a short lesson log and you receive a monthly progress report on attendance, current lesson, Tajweed and next goals. Students receive a certificate at course milestones.

What languages do teachers speak?

Classes are taught in English, with Urdu available. Ask about Arabic when you book.
